Terms of Use
Please read these terms carefully before using Kings Package Manager.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Kings Package Manager website, currently hosted at this domain ("KPM", "the Site", "we", "us"), operated by KingsEmpire. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2. Current Status of the Service
KPM is presently an in-development showcase. Package listings, version numbers, download counts, and maintainer names displayed on the Site are illustrative sample data used to demonstrate the design and interface. There is currently no functioning package registry, install backend, user account system, or payment processing. Nothing on the Site should be relied upon as a live, production package-hosting service. This section will be updated once (and if) a real registry is launched.
3. No Affiliation
Kings Package Manager is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to npm, Inc., GitHub, Microsoft, the OpenJS Foundation, Node.js, or any other third-party package registry or trademark holder. Any resemblance in naming convention or general concept (a searchable software package registry) reflects a common, unprotectable category of product, not an affiliation.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction if higher, to use the Site. By using the Site you represent that you meet this requirement.
5. Acceptable Use
When using the Site, or any future registry or CLI functionality it may offer, you agree not to:
- Upload, publish, or distribute malware, ransomware, spyware, or other malicious code;
- Publish content that infringes another party's intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights;
- Use the Site to violate any applicable law or regulation;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its infrastructure, or other users' accounts;
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the Site in a way that imposes an unreasonable load on it;
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
6. User-Submitted Content
If and when KPM enables package publishing, you will retain ownership of any code or content you submit ("Submissions"). By submitting content, you grant KingsEmpire a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the registry. You remain solely responsible for your Submissions and confirm that you have the right to publish them. We reserve the right to remove any Submission, at our discretion, including in response to a valid infringement notice.
7. Intellectual Property & Copyright / Trademark Complaints
The KPM name, logo, and site design are the property of KingsEmpire, except for third-party or open-source elements used under their own licenses. If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright or trademark, contact us at [email protected] with: (a) identification of the work claimed to be infringed; (b) identification of the allegedly infringing material and its location on the Site; (c) your contact information; (d) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized; and (e) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder. We will review and respond to valid notices in a reasonable timeframe.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and any content on it are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any future registry content will be free of vulnerabilities.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, KingsEmpire and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim, or €50, whichever is greater.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KingsEmpire and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your Submissions, or your violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent changes. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Slovakia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
